Electro-hypersensitives are people who have adverse health effects brought about by a sensitivity to electric and magnetic fields. Most will have a very specific trigger event such as buying a new computer or a new mobile phone, or moving to a location near a phone mast or power generator. But once the trigger happens the sensitivity can be very wide-ranging. It is like being allergic to electromagnetic fields. The body's response is to react negatively and hopefully your brain will figure out that the best solution is to flee from the offending signal.
So what should electro-hypersensitive people do to minimize the health risks? Here are a few suggestions.
Don't travel by car, bus, train, subway or plane.
Don't go to the cinema, the theatre, concerts or sports events.
Don't stand too close to operating computers, fridges, freezers, refrigerated counters in shops, photocopiers, washing machines, clothes driers.
Don't go anywhere that uses fluorescent lights or even low energy bulbs, don't watch TV or any CRO monitor.
Don't use an electric oven or hob or microwave oven. Avoid using an electric iron.
Don't use a cordless or mobile phone or go to places where other people may be using a cellphone and avoid going near a cellphone mast. Landline plugged in phones may be used for short periods of time.
In short, don't do anything and don't go anywhere that uses electric current or electromagnetic fields. Simple!
I have rewritten what was a letter sent in as part of a study done in Sweden on Voices and Witnesses on Electro-Hypersensitivity. This was first published in 2002 with a second edition in 2004.
As you can see, given our current addiction to EMF the life of an electro-hypersensitive has often been described as an "electro-refugee". There really is nowhere to go and nothing to do that does not include some EMF source.
EMF is the perfect neuro-toxin as it is unseen and ubiquitous. Only by using an EMF tester can one get a map of the pollution and its sources. EMF shielding can attenuate the problem but it is expensive and the person becomes a prisoner in their own home.
In the early years the main trigger was the use of computers and especially old CRO monitors. This has recently been replaced by mobile phones and pulsed microwaves.
But people just don't seem to care... unless you or your family start to suffer.
